THE SHIELD OF FAITH

Scripture Reading - Ephesians 6:16-18

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; KJV

The Book of Ephesians was written for all Christians, not just the Believers of old times but for you and me today. We notice in verse 16 the Apostle Paul states, “Above all, taking the shield of faith” which basically means to use your faith all the time. The Apostle makes this bold statement of priority because it is our foremost way to be successful in this life here on earth. Whenever we use the faith of God we take our stand to claim the results promised us in God’s Word. We must resist the enemy first by faith and then after we have resisted the enemy he flees from us according James 4:7. This shield of faith stops all the fiery darts of our enemies, which tells us that there are (and always will be) those who stand against us. Always keeping in your mind that you are saved, not going to be saved one day, but saved today, tomorrow and forever. Although your decision for salvation, by choosing Jesus, was great you will have to purpose to live right before your Heavenly Father to keep God’s Grace of Salvation working in you unto perfection. Knowing that when you speak the Word of God you are giving voice to your spirit and enabling God’s Kingdom to work good in your life. This is what some call confession or profession and this may also be called prayer. When you look at this type (form) of communication as prayer you can pray all the time without ceasing. For this reason we know that the Angels of God are listening for the Word of God and the Word of God will prosper in everything you speak it toward or into. Just maintain your words of faith with the mindset of being saved by God’s Grace through consistent prayer (confession) for yourself and all saints in Jesus Name. Amen!
